Hibs vs Dundee United - Scottish Cup Semi Final
I thought the game deserved a match thread.
McBookie odds
Hibs 13/10
Draw 12/5
Dundee United 11/5
The game is live on the BBC with a 12:15 kick off tomorrow.
Rangers vs Celtic - Scottish Cup Semi Final
Man City v Real Madrid
Hart, Sagna, Kompany ©, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho, Navas, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero
Navas, Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Bale, Lucas Vázquez, Benzema
Obvs Ronaldo out but I'm surprised to see Benzema back after going off injured in their last game. I'm doubtful if him and Bale are 100%
Spanish clubs in Europe
This season they've won 13 ties out of 13 against non Spanish teams.
In last three seasons, it is 44 out of 47.
Liverpool v Villarreal
Mignolet; Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Moreno; Can, Milner, Lallana; Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge
Areola, Mario, Musacchino, Victor, Costa; Dos Santos, Pina, Bruno, Suarez; Soldado, Bakambu
Tough task for Liverpool I reckon tonight. Away goal could be a killer. Villarreal are the only team to have beaten Liverpool in the Europa League this season!
Champions League matches could be played at weekends from 2021

your though please vote!
my thoughts are since
a) the very first match in the European Cup was on sunday 4 September i.e. Sporting cp 3 partizan belgrade 3
some of the teams in the 1st european (champions Club) cup were not champions of their country one example being Hibernian fc (scotland).
c) The tournament initiated by L'Equipe did not stipulate that the participating teams had to be champions of their country, but they invited clubs who they considered had the most fan appeal. Representatives of 16 sides were invited to meetings on 2 and 3 April 1955, and the L'Equipe rules were unanimously approved.
So basically as it would just be going back to the ways it all stated all be it in more of a league/Knock-out HYBRID TYPE OF FORMAT these days compared to the original 2 legged knock-out format then why not!
it would really only effect medium sized clubs as the very big and very small teams attendances (matchday income) would not be effected much as next to nobody watches the very small teams like dornoch fc anyway and a near full stadium of fans still turn up for the likes of everton FC home matches when they are played at the EXACT same time as UEFA champions League MATCHES ARE BEING PLAYED ELSEWHERE then most clubS would not loose out to uefa champions League matches being played at weekends.
PLUS MAKING TOP FLIGHT DOMEST LEAGUE SIZES 16 TEAMS IN ORDER TO MAKE SPACE ON WEEKENDS FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MTACHES WOULD ONLY EFFECT 8 CLUBS AT MOST EACH SEASON/YEAR.

Euro 2016
I know it is a little bit early, well no its not really with the competition just round the corner. Who does every one have as favourites for the tournament ? Always have your usual of Germany, Spain, Holland....no wait ha ha Italy , France, I actually think England have a decent chance this year and they have an excellent squad of players. Also we have them in our WC group and we usually end up with the winners !!!!
What about surprise packages, what teams may cause an upset or two. Could it be the lads from NI ? or Wales with the not so secret weapon. My teams to look out for under the radar would be Austria who don't lose to many goals and have no trouble finding them and Croatia although Iceland could surprise a few.
Over all winners I find it hard to look past the French and I'm sorry to say England.
Happy Gothenburg day

Liverpool v Sevilla 18/5/16
Winners go straight into the CL , liverpool need to win to be in europe , sevilla will be back in europa of they lose.
Sevilla are the europa specialists , some record in this , winning it last two years and 4 times in the last 9.
I fancy liverpool though so will take them to win BTTS @ 7/2
Liverpool at full strength apart from suspended sakho.
Sevilla no injuries either.
Should be a cracker.
Cmon the scouse , calm down calm down
Match odds paddy power
Liverpool 7/5
Sevilla 21/10
Congratulations Hibs
It will be some party in Leith tonight.
European Qualifying for Scottish clubs
With such poor coefficients it's really hard for the likes of Hearts, Aberdeen or Hibs to get to the group stages here. The seeding in the first match should surely get us past that round though.
